It’s another lost season for both the Florida Marlins and the Pittsburgh Pirates, as they both have 40 losses already, with the halfway point of the season still on the horizon. But that doesn’t mean we can’t win some money off of this game tomorrow in Pittsburgh.
Former ace Sandy Alcantara is having a disastrous season as well, going 2-7 with a 7.89 ERA for the Marlins in his first season back from Tommy John surgery. And things aren’t going to get better tomorrow, at least when Pirates’ second baseman Adam Frazier is in the batter’s box. That’s because Frazier rakes off Alcantara.
With a career slash of .467/.500/.933 against Alcantara, Frazier is set for a big day tomorrow in front of the home faithful. I like him to get 2+ total bases on Tuesday, not only because Alcantara is on the bump, but also because Frazier has touched at least this many bags in three of his last four games.
