I don’t want to jinx myself, but it appears like the Oklahoma City Thunder are going to get me out of my slump tonight by covering the spread (they are currently leading 55-27). But who will face the Thunder in the NBA Finals? We may find out tomorrow night. Here are your NBA predictions and preview for Thursday, May 29th.
NBA Predictions & Preview For Thursday, May 29th
Indiana Pacers vs New York Knicks
Start Time – 8:00 PM EST
The New York Knicks have their backs against the wall heading into Game 5 down 3-1 to the Indiana Pacers, but at least they’re at home in Madison Square Garden, right? Wrong. Well, Game 5 is indeed being played at MSG, but the wrong part is that this is a good thing for the Knicks.
As I’ve been hammering home in this column over this series, the Knicks stink at home these playoffs. They are now 3-5 in the World’s Most Famous Arena, with the Pacers already beating them twice on their home court. So, being back at home won’t fix what ails the Knicks.
Speaking of ailments, both teams have key players listed as questionable for tomorrow: Karl-Anthony Towns for New York and Aaron Nesmith for Indiana. However, you’d expect both guys to suit up since this is the playoffs, after all.
Regardless of whether Towns and/or Nesmith are out, I like Indiana to handle their business tomorrow night. Tyrese Haliburton shines the brightest under the lights of Madison Square Garden, and the fact that we’re getting the Pacers plus the points is a bonus.
Best Bet: Indiana +4.5 (-112)
Overall Record: 193-161 (55%)
Profit (based on $100/bet): $1,444.40
Return on Investment: 4%
