I appreciate the Dallas Stars storming back in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Western Conference Finals, but I would have preferred them not to mush my parlay in the process by making the game go over 6.5 goals. So, did anything in Game 1 between the Edmonton Oilers and the Dallas Stars make me change my opinion of the series and, in turn, make my pick for Game 2 any different? Up to the end of the second intermission, the answer was yes. But then the Dallas Stars scored five unanswered goals in the final period, and my answer became a resounding no.
My handicap for Wednesday was based on home ice advantage and which team’s goalie I had the most faith in stepping up, and that definitely hasn’t changed at all for Friday’s game. Letting in five goals on 27 shots hasn’t given me a better opinion on Edmonton’s Stuart Skinner, that’s for sure. And Dallas is now 7-1 on their home ice in the postseason.
The Dallas Stars on the moneyline is my best bet for Friday.
