Best Bet For Thursday (May 22nd): NHL Predictions
Florida Panthers vs Carolina Hurricanes
Start Time: 8:00 PM EST
The defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers certainly look good, don’t they? They also certainly made me look dumb (I don’t need their help there) by picking against them in Game 1, as they spanked the Carolina Hurricanes on their home ice, 5-2. So, naturally, I’m once again backing the Hurricanes to win Game 2.
The Hurricanes are just too strong playing at the Lenovo Center to drop back-to-back games on their home ice, in my opinion. Carolina was 31-9-1 at home during the regular season, the third-best mark in the NHL, and had yet to lose at home during the postseason heading into Game 1. And Florida is a mediocre road team.
Now that the Panthers have beaten the Hurricanes in their barn twice this season (once in the regular season), I’m expecting things to revert to the mean tomorrow (unless Florida really is as good as they looked in Game 1).
