MMA Regional Pick of the Week: RIZIN: Otoko Matsuri
RIZIN: Otoko Matsuri Heavyweight Fight: Mikio Ueda vs Shoma Shibisai
Card Start Time: Sunday (5/3), 12:00am EST (RIZIN PPV)
One of the best values in all of RIZIN this weekend comes on karate specialist, Mikio Ueda. Roughly a year ago, he had a fight with sumo wrestler turned MMA fighter, Tsuyoshi Sudario. In that fight, he managed to stay away from the grappling realm and work his phenomenal striking. Ultimately, that fight would end with a head kick KO from Ueda. That showed tremendous promise as he’s always had the hands to get the win. Now he’s shown he can force people to stand there.
Shoma Shibisai might be the perfect guy to get to stand there with him. Sibisai has always shown that he can mix it up on the ground, but I just don’t trust that he can get it there if his opponent is fighting it. Every minute he’s on the feet, he’s in danger of losing the fight. As a result, I like Ueda to pull the upset here.
