The UFC octagon is on the road again this week, travelling from Kansas City, Missouri, to the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, for this Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs Figueiredo. It’ll be the promotion’s first foray into Iowa since 2000, and its maiden voyage to Des Moines. For my MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Des Moines, I’m targeting the fourth fight from the top of the card. Let’s go!

MMA Main Card Pick of the Week: UFC Des Moines
UFC Fight Night: Sandhagen vs Figueiredo (AKA UFC Des Moines)
Main Card Start Time: 10:00 PM EST (ESPN2/ESPN+)
The fourth-to-last fight on Saturday is a bantamweight matchup between an American, Montel Jackson, and a Peruvian, Daniel Marcos. And my money is on the American.
Jackson is an underrated fighter, probably mostly stemming from only fighting once per year over the past four years. Hopefully, he gets multiple wins in 2025, starting with a victory over Marcos on Saturday. Jackson is the better and more dangerous striker in this matchup and has a six-inch reach advantage at his disposal on the feet. Plus, Jackson is far superior on the mat.
