College Basketball Picks April 3
USC +5.5 vs. Villanova
In tournaments such as the College Basketball Crown, we have to look at things outside of the court to make our betting decisions. Players have entered the portal, and likely, both of these teams will look very different come next season.
After multiple press conference fiascos and reportedly skipping a team dinner, Kevin Willard just signed a deal to leave Maryland and become the next head coach at Villanova. I’m optimistic Nova will be able to establish themselves as a northeast power, but in this one, I’m riding with the continuity, even if it’s just for one season.
Last year’s coaching carousel shocked many, including Eric Musselman’s appointment as the coach at USC. The Trojans had an up-and-down year in the Big 10. They are a young group, developing for the next few seasons.
In this one, they should be able to cover the number against a Nova side that’s a bit unorganized at the moment.
