Maryland Terrapins vs Florida Gators
Start Time: 7:39 PM EST
This half of the West Region bracket has gone to chalk, with the #1 seeded Florida Gators facing off against #4, the Maryland Terrapins (#10 Arkansas being the outlier in the other half of the West bracket). And while I’m not predicting an upset in this game either, I am predicting that the favorite won’t cover the spread.
Maryland needed a last-second Derik Queen jumper to fall last game to make it this far. But the Terrapins will still be a stiff test for Florida, as they are ranked by KenPom as the 10th-best team in the nation. They also have a better defense than the Gators.
Will Florida win? Probably. But I only have the Gators as a four-point favorite in this spot, so the Terrapins on the spread is my best bet for Thursday.
