With the race for the Premier League title all but done, news flash, Liverpool have it in the bag, attention is now turning to what looks like being a monumental race for a UEFA Champions League spot for next season.
If we are to assume that two of the places are heading to the aforementioned Liverpool and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, the list of those who have genuine hopes of getting into Europe’s premier club competition for 2024/25 numbers eight teams.
If you are a fan of any of the teams fighting it out for a Champions League spot, why not back those hopes with a bet? Finding the right betting provider to place such a bet is not an easy task, which is why the information at this page could prove pivotal. Rather than being a race for the top four, it currently looks as if fifth place will also secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League, this being based on ranking in UEFA’s coefficient table, which favours the Premier League in a big way.
So, who could be heading into the mix for 2024/25? Well, Manchester City are slowly recovering from a woeful mid-season slump and look good to finish in the top five and Chelsea would also believe they have a good shot at making it.
Other, more surprising, teams who are also in with a shout include a Nottingham Forest side who have performed wonders under Nuno Santo. The City Ground side currently sit in third spot but they’ll need to maintain their excellent form to be sure of making it.
The congested nature of the Premier League means that only six points separate third to tenth, and with eleven games left in the season, there is still plenty to play for. Newcastle United sit in sixth place, behind Chelsea in fifth, and with Alexander Isak in red-hot form, don’t discount a run from Eddie Howe’s side.
Then comes another hugely improved side in Bournemouth, with Andoni Iraola’s team performing miracles to sit in seventh spot and just one point then sets apart Fulham, Brighton and Aston Villa.
Unai Emery’s side secured a first-ever qualification for the UEFA Champions League last season, having only previously competed in the European Cup era. Aston Villa have done well in the competition this season, getting to the Round of 16, without having to go through the playoffs in order to do so.
Manchester City are the most in-form of the teams in the hunt and Chelsea’s large squad will aid their push to return to the UEFA Champions League, and one would imagine that these two, along with Nottingham Forest, would be the best bets to get to the promised land.
Another big reason for the slightly less known sides competing at such a high level is the failure of teams like Manchester United and Tottenham, two giants who have been flailing since the season began, offering smaller fish to swim in the deep end of the big pond.
