Underdog Fantasy College Basketball Picks February 7

Trey Kaufman-Renn, Underdog Fantasy college basketball, February 7

Friday’s college hoops slate might be the tiniest of the season. We only have seven D1 basketball games scheduled for February 7th. A few of them are quality, but this is a light schedule. We also get over 120 games on Saturday. College basketball really needs to think about the way they schedule. Now, as long as we have a handful of games, we can build an Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry. We’ve already got three plays that you’ll want to take for today’s mini-slate.

Keep in mind that playing all three legs of our plays in Underdog Fantasy could win you 6X your money on a single entry. Let’s dig into tonight’s plays and remember to let it ride!

Trey Kaufman-Renn Higher Than 20.5 Points

USC travels to Mackey Arena for a match up with the Purdue Boilermakers. The Trojans allow opponents to shoot 52.6% on two-point shots this year. That’s 243rd in the nation. USC also gives up a ton of points and let’s teams get to the free-throw line.

Add it all up, and Purdue big man Trey Kaufman-Renn is going to eat against the Trojans. Kaufman-Renn comes into this game averaging 18.9 points per game at home this year. He’s also gone higher than 20.5 points in four of his last five games this year.

USC struggles to defend on the inside, and Kaufman-Renn shoots over 60% inside the arc at home this year. He also gets to the line nearly six times per game, and shoots about 60% from the line. Kaufman-Renn should get what he wants inside, and you’ll want him in your Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry for February 7th.

Alex Karaban Higher Than 4.5 Rebounds

It’s rare that an Underdog Fantasy college basketball projection smells fishy, but this is one of the fishiest we’ve ever posted.

UConn big man Alex Karaban comes into tonight’s match up with St. John’s averaging 5.1 rebounds per game. He’s gone higher than 4.5 rebounds in three of his last four games. Karaban has gone higher in 12 out of 20 games played.

Karaban also plays the majority of the game. Given his size, where he plays, and how much he plays, he should walk into five rebounds.

Opponents facing St. John’s have averaged 34.7 rebounds per game. That’s 192nd in the nation. Rebounding is one of the few aspects of the game that the Red Storm isn’t awesome at.

This number feels a little low given how much time Karaban spends on the court. He’s hit in more than 50% of his games, and it’s a decent match up on a light slate. Let’s dive in to the fishy projection, and roll with the higher total on Karaban rebounds in tonight’s Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry.

Alex Crawford Higher Than 13.5 Points

Utah State heads to northern California for a game against Fresno State. These two teams played about a month ago, and Alex Crawford went off for 26 points. Let’s run it back tonight in Fresno.

Utah State allows opponents to shoot 53.0% inside the arc this season. That’s 253rd in the nation. Crawford shoots 58.5% on two-point shots this year. He’s also gone higher than 13.5 points in five of his last nine games played.

Let’s ride with the hot hand in what could be a weird match up on a short slate of games. We’ll go higher on Crawford at home to round out the card for today’s Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry.
