Rutgers +6.5 vs. Illinois

Maybe I’m delusional for still somewhat believing in the potential of the Scarlet Knights. We saw it years ago with an extremely young Arkansas roster that made it to the tournament by the skin of their teeth and then made a deep run. I’m not saying the Knights can pull all of that off, but they are very capable of playing winning basketball, especially at home.

Illinois has struggled a bit on the road this season, losing to Northwestern and Nebraska. Their smothering defense has led them to their 15-7 record. The Scarlet Knights have made strides on the offensive side of the ball since the beginning of the season but still do not possess the typical Steve Pikiell defense.

The Big 10 has been a bit of a revolving door his year. Outside of Purdue and Michigan State, I think anyone can beat anyone in this conference.
