College Basketball Picks January 29

Maryland -5.5 vs. Wisconsin

The Terrapins are getting hot at the right time. They have won five of their last six conference games, including a dominant road win against Illinois. I know Big Ten schools usually struggle in the NCAA Tournament, but I really like this Maryland team to make a run if they can stay healthy.

On Wednesday, the Terrapins take on Wisconsin, who has won eight of their last nine games. The Badgers have an elite offense, but their defense isn’t exactly where you would want it to be. Their elite guard play from John Tonje and John Blackwell has carried this underwhelming roster.

This is the classic example of a ranked team catching points on the road. The Terrapins should be able to rely on their bigs and smother an undersized Wisconsin squad.
