Best Bet For Monday (January 27th): College Basketball Predictions

With no football for another couple of weeks when some game happens in New Orleans (Super something), I’m turning my sights again to the college hardwood for my daily best bet. For my best bet for Monday, January 27th: College Basketball Predictions, we’re headed to the building where I saw Chris Webber play his last collegiate home game (I’m old), the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Penn State Nittany Lions vs Michigan Wolverines

Start Time – 6:30 PM EST

We get an animal kingdom battle on Monday night in Michigan, pitting the Penn State Nittany Lions vs the Michigan Wolverines. So who wins in a fight, a mountain lion or a wolverine?! I’m going with the wolverine in this one.

Not only is Michigan 6-2 in Big Ten play (compared to Penn State’s 3-6 mark), but the Wolverines have also won nine straight games in the Crisler Center. Having been smoked by 27 points in their last game against fellow ranked team Purdue, you have to think that Michigan will be ready to take out their frustrations on the overmatched Nittany Lions.

Considering all the advanced stats and the home-court advantage in Michigan’s favor, my line for this game is Michigan -10.5. So the home Wolverines on the spread is the play of the day.

Best Bet: Michigan -8 (-110)

Best Bet Overall Record: 166-143 (54%)
Profit (based on $100/bet): $625.29
Return on Investment: 2%
