As mentioned above, these two teams split the season series with the home team winning a game. The Commanders did hold out of practice guard Sam Cosmi (knee), Daron Payne (knee/finger), and Bobby Wagner (ankle). Unfortunately for the Commanders, Sam Cosmi will miss the remainder of the playoffs after suffering a torn ACL.

For the Eagles, it is clear that Jalen Hurts is dealing with a left knee injury. How injured is he? We won’t know. Additionally, the two key injuries to keep an eye on will be starting center Caleb Jurgens and tight end Dallas Goedert. Both did not participate in practice on Thursday.

Commanders at Eagles Preview and Predictions

Best Bets

The Philadelphia Eagles came into this game and played well on their home field. Including the postseason, the Eagles are 9-1 SU but 5-5 ATS. Since the 2022 season, when the Eagles are favored in a division home game, the Eagles have 9-1 ATS and 6-4 ATS. This season, the Commanders did find success in their road games going 7-3 SU and 5-4-1 ATS.

Will Jayden Daniels be able to continue his elite play in this game? The biggest matchup in this game will be the Commanders’ rush defense against Saquon Barkley. The Commanders came into the postseason with one of the worst rush defenses. Is the game plan for the Commanders to stack the box and make Hurts beat you with his arm? I am in the belief the Commanders keep this game close and can get stops against the Eagles. If you like the Eagles in this game, it is a great teaser leg.

Best Bet: Commanders +6

Saquon Barkley Longest Rush Attempt Over 24.5 Yards

Where would the Eagles be without MVP finalist Saquon Barkley? He had an incredible regular season and his success on the ground has carried into the postseason. In each of the two playoff games this year, Barkley has 51 rush attempts for 324 yards and two touchdowns. More importantly, Barkley has been able to get to the second level and explode for big runs. During the regular season, Barkley had 25+ yards in seven games including one against the Commanders.

The Commanders’ rush defense has been one of the worst this season and I expect Barkley to feast in this matchup. Lastly, the Commanders allowed each of the two running backs they faced this postseason to get over their longest rush attempt.
