College Basketball Picks December 31
Happy New Year’s Eve, everyone. We have some solid college basketball matchups for a jam-packed sports day.
Providence +6.5 vs. Marquette
The Marquette Golden Eagles have been a staple of the Big East over the past few seasons under Shaka Smart. This team, led by Senior guard Kam Jones, is 7-5-1 against the spread this season and faces a less-than-impressive Providence team on Tuesday evening.
That said, a few trends suggest Providence can keep this one close. Yes, Marquette is good against the spread, but they are 1-3 ATS as the road team and 0-2 ATS in conference games. In these in-conference, rivalry-type matchups, I love rolling with the home team, especially if they are getting 6.5 points.
Providence is undoubtedly the less talented squad, but I think they can keep it close in a raucous home environment.
