Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders Preview and Predictions

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders Preview and Predictions

The Philadelphia Eagles head to Landover, Maryland for a rematch between NFC East foes. They’ll take on the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX. Let’s jump in and take a look at this Eagles-Commanders Preview and Predictions.

The Eagles enter this game on a 10-game win streak that has them sitting at 12-2 on the year and tied for the number one seed in the NFC playoffs. If the playoffs started today the Lions would be the #1 seed based on strength of schedule. One of the wins in their 10-game streak was a 26-18 Week 11 win on Thursday Night Football over these Washington Commanders.

The Commanders have won their last two games after a three-game losing streak. Their record sits at 9-5 and currently they hold the final Wild Card spot in the NFC playoffs. This game has huge implications to both sides and their respective playoff positions.

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders Preview and Predictions

Saquon Barkley Over 96.5 Rushing Yards (-117)

The first time these two teams met in Week 11, the Washington Commanders couldn’t stop Saquon. The Eagles stud running back had 22 carries for 146 yards. Barkley has been nearly unstoppable this season hitting the 100-yard mark in nine games this year for the Eagles.

The Commanders’ rushing defense has been a problem all season for the team. They rank 25th in the NFL in rushing defense and are the fourth worst team in yards per carry (4.8). He left last week’s game with an undisclosed injury, but has been practicing this week and says he’s fine.

Philadelphia Eagles -3.5 (-105)

The Commanders have been an impressive team this year, and they have accomplished more than most expected from them. But this Eagles team is just a next-level team. Philadelphia covered this number in their first matchup and I believe it’ll be a similar result in Week 16. The Eagles are 12-3 straight up in the last 15 against Washington and 5-1 ATS in their last six games this season. Washington on the other hand is just 1-4 ATS in their last five games. It’ll be a close-fought tough game, but Philadelphia comes out with the cover.
