Ryan Kalkbrenner Higher Than 8.5 Rebounds

This is the second straight game books have listed Creighton center Ryan Kalkbrenner at less than nine rebounds. He cashed against Nebraska and should cash here, too.

Creigton draws San Diego State in Las Vegas, and the Aztecs don’t seem to have anyone capable of keeping Kalkbrenner off the glass. The Aztecs allowed UC-San Diego big man Nordin Kapic to rack up nine boards. Gonzaga power forward Graham Ike also snagged nine rebounds against the Aztecs. Kalkbrenner is one of the best rebounders in the country, and he should fly over nine boards.

Kalkbrenner is averaging 9.0 rebounds per game, but that comes with 22-minute efforts against Houston Christian and Farleigh Dickinson. He’s put up double digit rebounds in his over three games with a normal workload. Kalkbrenner should play normal minutes, and he’ll pull down double-digit boards here.

Grant Nelson Higher Than 11.5 Points

This is either the books knowing something or this number is way too low. First, Alabama’s Grant Nelson is averaging 14.2 points per game this year. He’s cleared 11.5 points in four of his first five. His only miss was a in a 15-minute appearance against UNC-Asheville in the first game of the year.

In Houston’s early season match up with Auburn, they really struggled with power forward Johni Broome. Broome was able to work the mid-range game, and use his size to get to the rim. He also got a few good looks from beyond the arc.

The expectation is that Houston will again struggle with size, but Nelson should do a better job of converting from beyond the arc. Expect Nelson to clear 11.5 points, and you’ll want him in your Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry.

Hunter Dickinson Higher Than 17.5 Points

The cap here is simple. Hunter Dickinson shows up for these games. In the 2024-25 season, Dickinson is averaging 17.5 points per game. However, that includes a 10-point, 25-minute appearance against Oakland, and a 15-point, 30-minute appearance against UNC-Wilmington.

In games against Michigan State and North Carolina, Dickinson has put up 28 and 20 points. Duke’s Khaman Maluach will likely get the defensive assignment on Dickinson for most of the game. Maluach has size to match Dickinson, but he’s a freshman playing his first season outside of NBA Academy Africa. Dickinson is a 5th year senior with eyes on a Naismith Award.

Dickinson will test Maluach early and often. Andrew Carr was able to put 17 on Maluach in the Duke loss to Kentucky. Expect Dickinson to outperform those numbers, and go higher on his point total in your Underdog Fantasy college basketball entry for November 26th.
