UFC Macau: Yan vs Figueiredo – Predictions & Best Bets

Zhang Mingyang – Wins via (T)KO (-150)

Perhaps my favorite spot on this whole card is the KO prop for Zhang Mingyang. He’s a light heavyweight who I’ve very excited for and I like the spot he’s getting here. Not only is he dangerous with his hands, but he’s getting an opponent who has moved up from middleweight in Ozzy Diaz. Additionally, Diaz made that move after viciously being knocked out on Contender Series, which to me is a sign that Mingyang should have the opportunities to duplicate the action.

Carlos Hernandez ML (-180) vs. Nyamjargal Tumendemberel

When this line opened, Hernandez was actually an underdog. The public seems to have gotten it right in my opinion. Despite Hernandez not having the most pristine record, he has looked pretty solid in the UFC – particularly when it comes to grappling. On Road to the UFC, we saw Tumendemberel have some issues with the grappling. He was taken down four times by thai kickboxer Topnoi Kiwram, which isn’t a good sign for fighting someone with this style.

Petr Yan vs Deiveson Figueiredo – Over 4.5 Rounds (-170)

Whether you like the dog play or the favorite here, this seems like a fight that’s likely to hit the cards. Petr Yan hasn’t seen a fight finish inside the distance since March of 2021 – and even that was a disqualification. Figueiredo is a little bit more finish heavy, but has only finished one of his three fights since moving up in weight. That was against the always fragile Cody Garbrandt, so I wouldn’t count on that happening again.

Xiaocan Feng – Wins Inside the Distance (+380)

In the Road to the UFC strawweight finals, you can get the big favorite Xiaocan Feng to win by finish at an insane rate. She’s finished half of her career wins, including one of the two on Road to the UFC. She’ll be fighting Ming Shi, who she has a massive size advantage over. She’ll be five inches taller and will have a six inch reach advantage. With Shi already having some issues dealing with size, I see a finish on the horizon.

Nikolas Motta ML (+160) vs. Maheshate Hayisaer

Kicking off the night, I like the underdog in Motta. He’s shown some real power in there and Maheshate was knocked out in his second to last fight. Not only that, but Mahashate has trouble with fighters who pressure and use feints to deter him. Motta does both of those things and I think he can ride the whole lot of techniques to a victory.

Quang Le – Wins via Sumbission (+750)

If you’ve read my columns before, you know I can’t end these things without an absolute bomb. I personally can’t believe how high this number is. Firstly I like Quang Le – who stepped in on short notice and gave Chris Gutierrez a hell of a fight. While his most recents wins have been with his hands, he has long shown a very impressive ground game on the regional scene. With his opponent preferring to let things fly, I can see Le dragging him down and getting this big line to cash for us.
