Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New York Giants Preview and Predictions

Baker Mayfield and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers head to East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday. They’ll meet up with Tommy DeVito and his New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. The game will kick off at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS. Let’s jump in and look at this Buccaneers-Giants preview and predictions.

Tampa Bay started the season off hot, but it quickly cooled off as the injuries piled up. Chris Godwin was lost for the season, and Mike Evans has missed the last three games. On the bright side, Evans got a full practice in on Thursday and appears poised to play. The Buccaneers need him back after losing their last four games in a row.

For the Giants, it’s been a rough season. They sit at just 2-8 on the year, and very much in play for the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. They’ve made the business decision to bench Daniel Jones. By benching him, they protect themselves against the injury clause and save money. Tommy DeVito takes over the starting job, he went 3-3 as the Giants starter last season.

Tommy DeVito Over 24.5 Rushing Yards (-113)

DeVito showed us his rushing ability during his stint as the Giants starter last season. He passed the 24.5-yard rushing mark in three of his last five starts. Now the ball is being placed back in his hands to potentially take over the job for the rest of the season. It’ll be up to DeVito to show off his stuff, and he’s going to use his legs.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers -5 (-130)

The Buccaneers have been solid against the spread this season with a 6-4 ATS record. They’ve covered the spread in both of their last two games. The Giants on the other hand have been horrible against the spread. They are just 3-7 ATS and haven’t covered a spread in their last five games in a row.

They’ll potentially get a little bump this week with DeVito taking over, but even that won’t be enough to save them with Baker Mayfield getting Mike Evans back and just simply being the better team, I expect them to win by a touchdown or more.
