Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears Preview and Predictions

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears Preview and Predictions

It’s an NFC North showdown at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois on Sunday. Sam Darnold and the Minnesota Vikings head to the Windy City to meet Caleb Williams and his Chicago Bears. They’ll square off at 1:00 p.m. ET on FOX. Let’s jump into this Vikings-Bears preview and predictions.

The Minnesota Vikings come into Week 12 quietly on another three-game winning streak. After starting the season 5-0, they dropped two games in a row before starting their current three game streak that puts them at 8-2 on the season. They sit second in the NFC North just a game behind the Lions.

Chicago comes in losers of their last four games in a row, the last two of those being home games. After a promising 4-2 start things have spiraled out of control for the team. They fired their offensive coordinator and Thomas Brown took over the duty last week.

Aaron Jones Over 80.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-117)

Aaron Jones loved playing against the Chicago Bears twice a year when he was a member of the Green Bay Packers. When he last played against Chicago in Week 18 last year he went for 141 total yards against them. In their Week 1 matchup he racked up 107 yards combined.

In six of his last eight games against the Bears, he’s surpassed this number. The Vikings have used him plenty in the same way the Packers did. Jones has cruised past the 80.5-yard mark in seven of the Vikings’ 10 games this season.

Minnesota Vikings -3 (-118)

Minnesota has been one of the better teams against the spread in 2024. They rank sixth among all teams ATS with a record of 7-3. They’ve covered the spread in seven of their eight wins this season. Chicago started the season strong ATS, but like the true record, that has slipped with the team not covering the spread in three of their last four games. I expect Minnesota to keep up their winning streak and edge out the Bears by a little more than a field-goal difference.
