This week’s Five Minute Fantasy Football episode discusses fantasy football trade targets. Your fantasy football playoffs are just three weeks away. First, you need to evaluate those rosters. Once you identify what you need, look for your potential candidates. Your league-mates are lazy, make it easy for them, I have an extra Quarterback, and you need a Quarterback, so let’s make a deal. Do not just throw players on the block in the group chat and think the offers will come pouring in.

Fantasy Football Trade Targets: 6 League Winning Trade Targets
One of the first things you want to do is identify who your targets are. Below are the 5 best strengths of schedules per position group via FantasyPros. You do not want to make a big move and then find out he has a terrible playoff schedule. When evaluating your team, you want to identify your strengths and weaknesses. You can’t trade away all of your depth, but don’t need a 5th or 6th RB or WR right now. Look to package depth and tier up to shore up any weaknesses.
Rank | QB | RB | WR | TE | K | D/ST |
1 | Buccaneers | Buccaneers | Patriots | Buccaneers | Giants | Buccaneers |
2 | Titans | Eagles | Giants | Giants | Jaguars | Commanders |
3 | Eagles | Packers | Broncos | Cardinals | Buccaneers | Colts |
4 | Broncos | Rams | Chiefs | Eagles | Commanders | Bengals |
5 | Saints | Commanders | Titans | Lions | Texans | Cardinals |
Buy
QB, Baker Mayfield – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Baker was the QB2 in fantasy football in the first half of the season. Then Tampa Bay got hit hard by the injury bug. Baker himself has been banged up, but they lost Chris Godwin and Mike Evans in the same game. They then lost their All-Pro Left Tackle in Week 10. Baker has still been balling out with the new pieces and he should be a trade target. Not only are they getting healthier, but they have a beautiful upcoming schedule.
They get the New York Giants, Carolina Panthers, and then the Las Vegas Raiders in the next 3 weeks. The Chargers Week 15 to start the playoffs is tough. But we did just see the Bengals go off on them. The Cowboys in Week 16 and then the Carolina Panthers in the championship game is B-E-A-Utiful! The team already has their bye week out of the way.
Trade Suggestions: Tiering Down would be to trade Patrick Mahomes for Baker Mayfield Plus. Grab a handcuff RB or a depth Tight End. Trading Up, I would trade away a Jameis Winston or Sam Darnold plus a depth piece for Baker Mayfield.
Other Trade Options: Bo Nix (Available in 52% of NFL Fantasy Leagues)
RB, Brian Robinson Jr. – Washington Commanders
Brian Robinson has the 2nd best fantasy football schedule for Running Backs. Austin Ekeler is coming off his best game of the season and he would be a piece to move. Robinson has been dealing with a Hamstring injury and his mini bye-week should benefit him. This is a great offense and the touchdown opportunities are something you want a piece of. Robinson has a bye in Week 14 and that is the only negative. You can try to turn that negative into a positive and use it as a selling point.
His playoff schedule includes the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, and Atlanta Falcons. Washington is a legit playoff team and they are fighting for a division crown. They are coming off of a tough loss against the Eagles and the buying opportunity is there. Look for Brian Robinson Jr. to boost his value back up against the Dallas Cowboys this week. I like Brian Robinson Jr. as a fantasy football trade target.
Trade Examples: If I am trading down I would move a bigger name like Aaron Jones for Brian Robinson Plus. If am trading up I would pair a player like Rico Dowdle or Tony Pollard with another piece.
RB, Kyren Williams – Los Angeles Rams
Kyren Williams’ touchdown regression was sure to come and it has. He has struggled to get into the end zone this year. The Rams offense has had fewer touchdown opportunities and he hasn’t been as efficient. The Rams also had 4 offensive linemen go down at the beginning of the season. They also had both Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp out for the season and Kyren Williams saw stacked boxes. Last year he saw 7 man boxes at a high percentage and he should see that again moving forward. If not, Stafford is just going to light teams up like he did the Miami Dolphins yesterday.
Kyren’s offensive lineman and his wide receivers are getting healthy. The Los Angeles Rams are firmly in the playoff hunt and he should be ready to go. You might have to pay a little more for him, but I am still buying. FantasyPros has him listed as the RB5 Rest of the season and the Rams have the 4th best fantasy schedule for RBs. Kyren is one of my favorite fantasy football trade targets because of his upside. His cost is higher than others, but the upside is RB1 overall rest of the season.
Trade Examples: Tiering Down from a De’Von Achane for Kyren Williams plus some depth at QB or TE. Tiering Up I would trade away a J.K. Dobbins or Tony Pollard plus Josh Downs to go get Kyren.
Other Options: James Conner has the 7th best fantasy football schedule for Running Backs. Tyrone Tracy has the 11th-best schedule and both players have passed their bye week.
WR, Tyreek Hill – Miami Dolphins
When you think of a player with league-winning upside, how can Tyreek Hill not come up? He has had monster weeks that have destroyed our fantasy football weeks plenty of times. This season has been tough and Tyreek managers have had their frustrations. If they are not already eliminated from the playoffs, they likely are fighting for their playoff lives. His playoff schedule includes the Texans, 49ers, and Browns. Cleveland has allowed the 25th most fantasy points to WRs, and Houston has allowed the 23rd most fantasy points to the position.
Trade Examples: Jayden Reed is a sell high candidate and he is on bye. Based on the rankings, you would need to add something to get Hill. But, after the game last night and the island game boost, you could get Hill straight up for Hill. Trading Down for Hill, I would trade George Pickens for Tyreek Hill plus another piece.
WR, Drake London – Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons and Kirk Cousins are coming off an embarrassing loss. London is on bye this week and gets the Chargers when he comes back, not great. But, he still has the 6th best fantasy football strength of schedule for Wide Receivers. I love that they are moving him around the formation. His upcoming schedule is exciting, especially his playoff schedule. He gets the Raiders, Giants, and Commanders for his playoff schedule. FantasyPros ECR has him ranked as the WR7 Rest of the Season.
Trade Examples: Tee Higgins for Drake London. Malik Nabers plus Drake London, sell Nabers’ playoff schedule.
Other Options: DeAndre Hopkins (4th best strength of schedule) and Courtland Sutton (3rd Best Strength of Schedule).
TE, Sam LaPorta – Detroit Lions
Sam LaPorta managers are probably about ready to drop him. They may not even be a playoff team. But, if LaPorta is available, you should buy him on the cheap. The Lions have the 5th best strength of schedule and the best offense in football. We want Touchdown upside and pieces of good offenses. He won championships last year and could do the same in 2024. LaPorta could even be available on your waiver wire after this week. The risk is there, but so is the upside with this fantasy football trade target.
Trade Examples: Taysom Hill, Jonnu Smith, or Will Dissly for Sam LaPorta
