DJ Lagway (QB) Florida Gators
Injury: Hamstring Strain
Injury Date: 11/2/2024
Expected Recovery Timeline: 2-4 weeks
Player Year: Freshman
The Florida Gators have finally become relevant enough this season to headline a Week 11 college football article… if only it wasn’t an injuries article. After senior QB Graham Mertz suffered a season ending injury a few weeks ago, the 5-star freshman DJ Lagway has stepped in nicely at QB. Coming off an impressive performance against Kentucky, he faced a giant step up in talent against the Georgia Bulldogs last week. Through a valiant effort from his defense, Lagway had the Gators up 10-3 late in the second quarter before disaster struck for the Gator faithful.
On a designed QB run, he went to plant his foot around midfield and slipped causing his leg to extend out awkwardly. He immediately went down and had to be carted off the field while grabbing at his hamstring. He was quickly ruled out of the game and seemingly for the season based on his initial reaction and the way the medical staff handled the situation.
Despite being unable to return to the game, thankfully news came out this week that the hamstring strain was not as serious as initially feared. There are reports that Lagway even participated in practice in some capacity this week. While this is GREAT news for the Gators, I would be SHOCKED if he suits up this week. Even in its mildest form, no hamstring strain is completely healed in one week. Hamstring strains also carry a high reinjury risk when not given enough time to heal. IF the hamstring strain is mild, best case scenario is a return next week but a more realistic return is the following week against Ole Miss.
Le’Veon Moss (RB) Texas A&M Aggies
Injury: Knee Injury
Injury Date: 11/2/2024
Expected Recovery Timeline: 9-12 months
Player Year: Junior
The Texas A&M Aggies came into last week riding high, with an undefeated SEC record. Well the mood quickly changed as they took an absolute beat down by the hands of South Carolina on the road. To add injury to insult, the Aggies will now also be without their best RB and most explosive player for the rest of the season.
Junior RB Le’Veon Moss has been a major bright spot for this Aggie offense. An offense, that is led by their ground game, has relied heavily on Moss. He leads the team in carries, yards, and TDs. Moss to a hard hit to his knee last week and head coach Mike Elko announced this week that is would require season ending surgery. The exact nature of the injury is unknown but he faces a long road to recovery with his eyes on the 2025 season.

Tez Johnson (WR) Oregon Ducks
Injury: Shoulder Injury
Injury Date: 11/2/2024
Expected Recovery Timeline: 2-4 weeks
Player Year: Senior
The Oregon Ducks are the number 1 team in the country and the last thing their fans want to see is their name on this Week 11 college football injuries article. However, I bring some good news. Senior WR Tez Johnson was knocked out of the game last week with a shoulder injury and seen in a sling post-game. Despite the optics not looking great, it’s been reported that the injury is NOT season ending.
Johnson will miss some time, including this week, but his season is not over. Oregon finishes the season with three games where they will be double digit favorites. This gives their best WR time to rest up and be ready for the post season. I would not be shocked if the next time we see Johnson is the Big Ten Championship game, which all things considered is not the worst situation.
Bryson Daily (QB) Army Black Knights
Injury: Undisclosed Injury
Injury Date: 10/26/2024
Expected Recovery Timeline: 1-2 weeks
Player Year: Senior
The Army Black Knights have been one of the Cinderella stories of this college football season. At a perfect 8-0 and with a Notre Dame on the schedule, West Point has its sights set on the College Football Playoff. However, one of the biggest names in college football is on the injury report for Week 11. Senior QB Bryson Daily was a surprise scratch last week against rival Air Force with an undisclosed injury. With Army coming off a bye week and no visible injury occurring to Daily in their previous game against ECU his injury is a bit of a mystery.
We did receive some insight this week as head coach Jeff Monken addressed the media earlier this week and said there is an expectation he will practice this week at some point. He called Daily’s status for the game “questionable to probable” on Tuesday. Now since then, the line has dropped from Army -6 to Army -3, which would indicate that Daily may need one more week for recovery.
With the way the Black Knights are playing, they may be able to squeak by a good North Texas team this week. However, they will absolutely need Daily if they have any chance of knocking off Notre Dame in two weeks. The senior QB accounts for 26 total TDs and leads the team in both passing and rushing yards. His status for this week is squarely uncertain and we likely won’t have concrete news until Saturday. Regarding his chances to return by the Notre Dame game, the fact he is expected back at practice this week is a GREAT sign for him the rest of the season.
Brady Cook (QB) Missouri Tigers
Injury: High Ankle Sprain
Injury Date: 10/19/2024
Expected Recovery Timeline: 4-6 weeks
Player Year: RS Senior
This college football Week 11 injury report continues on with another Senior QB unlikely to suit up this week. Missouri QB Brady Cook pulled a move straight out of the movies a few weeks ago. He was injured early in the Auburn game, was taken to a local hospital for an MRI and somehow returned to the game and led his team to a comeback victory. Well my friends, adrenaline is a hell of a drug.
It has been reported that the Mizzou QB suffered a high ankle sprain which put his health for the rest of the season in doubt. A high ankle sprain refers to damage to the ligaments connecting the two bones in the lower leg. This syndesmosis is inherently a strong joint that requires a lot of force and damage to injure. This correlates to a typical recovery timeline of 4-6 weeks. This injury is much more serious than the normal low ankle sprain we think of when somebody rolls their ankle.
Despite the mobility limitations and elevated reinjury risk, Cook tried to play against Alabama the following week. He was hit hard early in the game and quickly ruled out while also picking up a hand injury to go with the ankle. Even coming off a bye week, Cook is viewed as doubtful for this week’s game against Oklahoma. Cook is a warrior who will try to battle through injuries, but again the medical outlook is not on his side. Good luck to Missouri fans with QB Drew Pyne this week…yikes.
Missouri quarterback Brady Cook is viewed as doubtful for Saturday’s game against Oklahoma, multiple sources tell @On3sports.
He’s been listed as questionable on the SEC injury report this week as he works back from hand and ankle injuries.

Tre Harris (WR) Ole Miss Rebels
Injury: Undisclosed Injury
Injury Date: 10/19/2024
Expected Recovery Timeline: 2-3 weeks
Player Year: RS Senior
Arguably the best receiver in the country has been off the field the past few weeks and his status is doubtful heading into a massive SEC conference matchup. Ole Miss standout WR Tre Harris has been mesmerizing this season with his smooth releases and ridiculous catches. Despite being listed as questionable the past two weeks, Harris has been unable to play.
There is even less optimism for Harris this week as he was labeled “doubtful” on the initial injury report. Ole Miss is going to need all the help they can get against a stout Georgia defense and missing your most dynamic player typically isn’t a recipe for success. Due to his impact on the game, this injury is worth monitoring up until kickoff.
Diego Pavia (QB) Vanderbilt Commodores
Injury: Undisclosed Injuries
Injury Date: 10/26/2024
Expected Recovery Timeline: 1-2 weeks
Player Year: Senior
The man, the myth, the legend. This Week 11 college football injuries article is blessed enough to have Vanderbilt QB Diego Pavia make an appearance. Thankfully, it is mostly to highlight just how much of a gamer this guy is. At 6-3 with a win over #1 Alabama, Pavia is leading Vanderbilt to its best season in decades. He leads the team in both passing and rushing by a wide margin and despite taking hit after hit, he keeps going.
In a valiant effort against #5 Texas two weeks ago, Pavia took a beating as the talent gap became clear in the trenches. Despite taking a ton of hits and getting banged up, Pavia announced he will play this week. It sounds like he’s more hurting than injured, and he will be able to play through the pain. A tougher player than most, Pavia is one of the few QBs I would trust to perform in this situation.
Haynes King (RB) Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Injury: Upper Body Injury
Injury Date: 10/12/2024
Expected Recovery Timeline: 2-4 weeks
Player Year: Junior
This Week 11 college football injury ends with some mystery. Star QB Haynes King was ruled out the past few weeks after being called “day to day” since his injury. He now carries the same label this week, but official word is that he will be a game time decision as undefeated Miami comes to town. Both the line and the beat reporters are suggesting that King has a much more realistic shot to return from his upper body injury this week. With the likelihood of his return already baked in, I would wait to bet the Georgia Tech side until he is officially announced the starter.
