College Basketball Picks November 7

Florida -20.5 vs. Jacksonville

Florida took care of business and covered the spread in their first outing of the season against USF. Walter Clayton Jr. led the way with 29 points and Will Richard wasn’t too far behind with 25 of his own. Although the Gators did not shoot the three well, they were relentless at getting to the rim and earning free throws. They went to the charity stripe 33 times, making 27 of those.

Jacksonville also got the victory in their first game, beating Trinity Baptist 78-65. They lack size at the rim, making this a bad matchup for the Dolphins. Stephon Payne III, their best rim protector, stands at just 6’9. Honestly, Jacksonville as a whole is just a smaller team, which makes sense for a team in the ASUN.

I don’t think the Dolphins will be able to make this a close contest with the Gators’ relentless rim running.
