MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – World Series Game 2 – October 26
New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
First Pitch – 8:08 pm EST
Dodger Stadium – Los Angeles, California

While our play on the YRFI didn’t hit for game one, we’re going back to the well. We saw a lot of positive signs out of the bats down the stretch that I expect to carry over now that they aren’t off a long layoff. The first four innings saw just three hits and no runs, with two of those hits not leaving the infield. In the final 6 innings, there was 14 hits and nine runs.
We like that trend to continue even more when you consider the arms going to battle. The Dodgers send out Yoshinobu Yamamoto. While he had a great regular season when he was healthy, his postseason have been rough. He’s thrown just 12.1 innings this postseason and carried a 5.11 ERA. Most importantly, in three starts, he’s given up four first inning runs.
Even if the bats aren’t hot enough to get to Yamamoto, we like them getting to Rodon as well. Rodon similarly has had a rough October with a 4.40 ERA in 14.1 innings. Although he might not be giving up first inning runs at the same rate, there are some things that are alarming for him. His flyball rate has seen a spike in the postseason and he’s given up a dinger in two of his three starts.
