Fantasy Football Dynasty Trade Value Chart – October 2024 Update

Fantasy Football Dynasty Trade Value Chart – October 2024 Update

The start of fantasy football has been a little crazy for most. While some of the players we thought would do well have done well, others have been busts as of today. Perhaps you started slow, or maybe your team is still slow, and you feel it’s time to make a change. However, you may not know where to start or how to value your players. Have no fear, we have you covered with our fantasy football dynasty trade value chart.

Whether you need to turn it around, punting on the season, or making a push for a deep playoff run, this chart can help you out by giving you some framework towards player values.

This isn’t a step-by-step how-to guide. Everybody values players just a little differently, so you won’t be able to follow it exactly like the letter of the law. However, it’s a good start to get your trade conversations going. In fact, I’ve used it to show somebody that the deal they were offering was way off in terms of value.

We haven’t had a trade value chart since the offseason, so this one can bring lots of changes. We have better analyst rankings, plus average fantasy points per game. All this goes into the data. However, we’ll get into that more with the methodology.

Fantasy Football Dynasty Trade Value Chart – October 2024 Update

Methodology

If you haven’t reviewed our Fantasy Football dynasty trade value chart before, here’s a little on the methodology. First, our rankings system takes FantasyPros’ best, worst, and average rankings. We also throw in a little standard deviation to count all variables. This causes player values to change month after month as the FantasyPros’ analysts’ rankings change as well.

Second, you have to consider average fantasy football points per game because that’s what fantasy football is all about. Third, values will change throughout the year, especially as rookies get their fantasy football points. And last, we listened to your feedback and altered some things.

Another metric that plays with the dynasty chart is a player’s age. Somebody who is 22 will have a more weighted value than a player who is 32. Is that saying that 22-year-old players are always more talented than 32-year-olds? Absolutely not.

However, it is considered more thoroughly in dynasty because, at 22, the player will likely be around longer to acquire points for the following years.

Considering all that and running it through our formulas, we can assign a value for each player. This value can help weigh your fantasy football trades and improve your future team!

One last thing: rookies are hard to gauge. One of the main reasons they are hard to gauge is that they haven’t acquired any fantasy football points yet, while we can look back on the past year for other players. Therefore, they’ve been assigned a fantasy football point value that’s based on the average points around them.

Quarterbacks Recap

The top quarterback on the fantasy football dynasty trade value chart is Josh Allen. There are a lot of questions on why at only a year younger but less points he’s ahead of number two, Lamar Jackson. That part of the formula comes down to the fantasy rankers. There is more confidence in Josh Allen maintaining his fantasy success than Lamar’s. Lamar has had an injury history and that may give pause.

Behind those two is a three-way tie. First, C.J. Stroud, last year’s rookie of the year. He lost his top target in Nico Collins for a handful of weeks. However, he’s shown that he is still a great quarterback. Jalen Hurts is also up there with him. Hurts has a lot of weapons and even though Saquon Barkley is in the backfield now, Hurts still gets his quarterback sneaks.

Tied with them is rookie Jayden Daniels. Daniels has been very impressive both throwing and running the ball. He’s an elite athlete who should have great value in the fantasy football community for years to come. Falling out of the top-five for the first time, Patrick Mahomes is at six. He just hasn’t been the same fantasy asset in the past year and a half and as he gets older, his dynasty value drops.

Running Backs Recap

It’s important to note that these are some of the lowest values we’ve seen from running backs. So much so, that I felt I had to make some adjustments to how high the top wide receivers were. They still reign over the running backs value. This was all due to how fantasy rankers are valuing wide receivers so much more at this moment. Without a lot of consistent backs that are younger, it’s hard to blame them.

Topping the running backs on the fantasy football trade value chart is Jahmyr Gibbs. There were some offseason concerns about his hamstring injury but he has shown that there’s nothing to be concerned about. As the lightning to David Montgomery’s thunder, Gibbs does damage both on the ground and as a pass-catcher.

Tied with him are two other very good younger backs in Bijan Robinson and Breece Hall. Bijan looked like he was going to be off to a slow start this season, again. However, the Falcons offense is finding their groove and Bijan is doing damage on the ground and air as well. The same can be said for Breece Hall. Adding Davante Adams to that Jets’ offense should only help Hall do more damage by opening up the ground game.

Tied behind them are Saquon Barkley, Kenneth Walker, and Jonathan Taylor. Barkley has been excelling on his new team with the best offense he’s ever played on. He does get his touchdown numbers cultured some from Hurts. Walker is hitting a hot streak, scoring six touchdowns in the last three games. Even with Charbonnet there getting some carries, Walker is the Alpha in the offense.

Jonathan Taylor has dealt with some injury issues but is making his return now. When healthy, he can be one of the league’s best. Like the top three running backs, he’s versatile in both he run and passing games.

Wide Receivers Recap

There was much ado about nothing when discussing Jefferson’s value without “Kirko Chainz”. He’s picked up right where he left off and shown why he’s a quarterback-proof wide receiver. Jefferson’s talent has him tied at the very top of the fantasy football dynasty trade value chart. He’s only 25 years old.

Another young wide receiver, Ja’Marr Chase has done very well as well. He’s 24 and tied with Jefferson at the top. Unlike Jefferson, Chase did take a step back when Burrow got injured last year. His success may be a little more quarterback-dependent than Jefferson’s.

Next is Malik Nabers. The rookie has been sensational. He’s averaging 38% of the target share and despite Daniel Jones not being a top-notch quarterback, the target share is leading to plenty of fantasy value. Behind him is a tie between Amon-Ra St. Brown and Ceedee Lamb. Both of these young wide receivers lead their team in catches, yards, and target share. All five of these are great pieces to your dynasty team.

Tight Ends Recap

Look out to the other tight ends that have led this chart. There’s a new sheriff in town. Despite playing on a poor offense team, Brock Bowers has shined. He’s breaking rookie records in catches and counting. Bowers is the top receiving option for the Raiders with Meyers hurt and Adams traded. At this point, the biggest question is can he maintain it next year or drop in value like Sam Laporta did?

Speaking of Sam Laporta, he’s tied for second with Trey McBride. Laporta’s fantasy value just hasn’t been what it was last year. Trey McBride has gone up in fantasy value. Kyler Murray looks his way often. McBride has become more reliable than Laporta as of late, but you have to think Laporta will bounce back.

Tied behind them on the fantasy football dynasty trade value chart at tight end is Kyle Pitts and Dalton Kincaid. Pitts is having somewhat of a resurgence after a disappointing sophomore year. Dalton Kincaid started the season slow but is starting to pick up some steam. The addition of Amari Cooper to the Bills’ offense should only help him.
