Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – October 2
Jordan Westburg – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI
One of the first names that I love for Wednesday’s action is Jordan Westburg. He would have gone over this mark in just four of his last seven games, which may not seem like a lot. However, he also has a great pitching matchup to deal with here. Seth Lugo takes the bump for the Orioles. The two have only faced off twice, but Westburg has a triple and a homer in those two chances. Anything close to that should cover this projection in one plate appearance.
Frankie Montas – Higher than 1.5 Earned Runs
Frankie Montas has been hit around quite a bit lately. In each of his last three starts, he’s gone higher than this projection. Now he faces a Mets team that could not be hotter. If you throw out game two – in which their whole bench played instead – of their odd playoff with the Braves, they have scored at least five runs in each of their last three games. Two of those games were against these Brewers – including putting two earned up on Montas
Michael Harris – Higher than 6.0 Fantasy Points
My final play of the day is the lone bright spot on the Braves offense. While they have been brutal at the plate recently, Michael Harris has been holding it together. He has six hits in his last four games and has been on base eight times. While he hasn’t been running much lately, he does have stolen base speed and the Braves need an offensive spark. If that’s the case, this projection should be easy to cover.
