However, we spent the time pouring through the analytics to make sure that we give you the best odds to stay in the green on these NRFI and YRFI props for September 24. MLB NRFI and YRFI Picks – September 24
Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays
First Pitch – 7:07 pm EST
Rogers Centre – Toronto, Ontario
Broadcast – MLB TV
We rode this series to an NRFI win on Monday, and we’re looking to do it again here Tuesday. Why not, with another strong pitcher on the bump for the Blue Jays? While Bowden Francis doesn’t quite have the track record of a Chris Bassitt, he has only allowed seven earned runs in his last five starts. He’s also going deep into every game, and really the only runs he allows are when he goes a little too deep. Nevertheless, he should be safe for the first three outs.
It’s also easy to get in on a Toronto NRFI because their bats have not been great. They’ve scored just ten runs in their last six games. They put up another dud on Monday with just one run on six hits. Brayan Bello should be able to keep that trend going. He’s allowed just four earned runs in his last three outings – which yields a 2.20 ERA over that stretch.
NRFI/YRFI Bet for September 24: No (-130)
TExas Rangers vs. Oakland Athletics
First Pitch – 9:40 pm EST
Oakland Coliseum – Oakland, California
Broadcast – MLB TV
If we’re looking for more teams that can’t seem to score runs lately, look no further than the Rangers. They’ve scored just 13 runs in their last five games (2.6 runs per game). Some might see the Athletics and Mitch Spence across from them and expect a breakout. However, Spence has been surprisingly good in September. Over four starts this month, he carries a 2.95 ERA into action on Tuesday.
While Oakland has a surprisingly good arm in the mix for this one, don’t put their bats in that same category. They rank 26th in the majors this year in runs and are averaging just 2.00 runs per game over their last three. That shouldn’t change with Nathan Eovaldi toeing the rubber. He got shelled last time out, but has been largely good enough on the year – maintaining a sub-4.00 ERA.
