Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick’em Plays – September 19
Bryce Harper Higher Than 8.0 Fantasy Points
We are at the point of the MLB season when Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies lock into form. Harper has been red hot in the month of September. In 60 at-bats, Harper is slashing .350/.418/.617. The Phillies are facing the red-hot New York Mets on Thursday. Luis Severino is on the hill, and Harper has fared well against the big right-hander.
In just three at-bats, Harper is 2-3 with two homers against Severino with an average exit velocity of 104. Look for Harper to stay hot and do some damage in this spot!
Marcus Semien Higher Than 0.5 Strikeouts
The Texas Rangers have been the most disappointing team of the 2024 season, and Marcus Semien has contributed to their sub-par play. The reigning champs are six games under .500 and will miss the playoffs. Semien has a lower-than-league average OPS and is hitting just .235.
On Thursday, Semien and the Rangers will face Kevin Gausman, who also has struggled this season. Semien has faced Gausman quite a bit throughout his career. In 26 at-bats, Semien has struck out nine times, which is good for a 31.5% K%. He has also struck out five times in his last five games.
Patrick Corbin Higher Than 4.5 Strikeouts
There won’t be too many times I’ll be banking on Patrick Corbin to hit a play for us, but here we are. Corbin faces the Cubs’ struggling offense on Thursday. Corbin has faced Cubs hitters 130 times in his career and has a 20.8% K%. He has also hit this strikeout number in his last five starts. Let’s not overthink too much here.
