Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick’em Plays – September 17

Christian Walker Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases

Over the past three seasons, Christian Walker has proven himself as an elite defensive first baseman with power. Although he has missed some time this season, Walker’s counting numbers are still solid, and his OPS is well above league average at .827. Walker is a free agent at season’s end and has been a staple in this D-Backs lineup for years!

On Tuesday, Walker and Co. will face the Colorado Rockies and starting pitcher Ryan Feltner. No matter how you slice it, this is a can’t-miss spot for an Underdog selection. We’ll start with Feltner’s numbers this season. In short: not good. He is 2-10 with a 4.89 ERA, and at home, it balloons up to 6.25.

Feltner has also not fared well against Walker. In 6 at-bats, Walker has 5 hits, 2 doubles, and 2 homers. Even the advanced metrics love this matchup for Walker, as he has a .592 xBA, 1.774 xSLG, and an average exit velocity of 95.5 MPH against Feltner. Did I mention this game is also at Coors Field?

Yeah. This is as juicy as it gets!

Bryan Woo Higher Than 31.5 Fantasy Points

Bryan Woo and the red-hot Mariners will face off in a three-game set against the Yankees starting tonight. Seattle has won eight of their last 11 games and find themselves just four games out of first place and two games out of the third Wild Card spot in the American League.

Woo has looked solid as of late and has dominated this Yankee lineup. In 28 career at-bats against Woo, Yankee batters are hitting just .143 with 10 strikeouts. He also pitched 6.0 innings of shutout ball the last time he faced this team.

If Woo can keep his pitch count down and go deep into this game, he will rack in the strikeouts and hit this number with ease.
