The Green Bay Packers 2024 regular season home opener will be against non-conference opponent, Indianapolis Colts. The Packers are coming off a loss in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles in Brazil. Meanwhile, the Colts also a loss in their home opener against the Houston Texans. As I mentioned above, the Green Bay Packers will be without their starter quarterback Jordan Love. Love suffered a lower leg injury on the final play in Week 1 against the Eagles. Love is concerned week-to-week. In steps Malik Willis who the Packers traded for right before the season. This will be his first career start.
The Colts come into this game dropping their home opener and look for Anthony Richardson to find his stride. It’s a pivotal spot for both teams as it’s a tall order to make the playoffs starting 0-2.
Best Bets
The Green Bay Packers offense could be limited in this game. Malik Willis doesn’t have a lot of experience in the NFL. Do we see a lot of Josh Jacobs and the running game? The Packers’ defense is going to have to step up in this spot and keep them in the game. I believe the Packers’ defense will be up to the task against Anthony Richardson who’s been a bit underwhelming.
This may be the public play of the week. And can you blame them? No. As I mentioned, Willis hasn’t proven much in the league. However, the Packers do have one of the better home-field advantages. Since the 2022 season, the Packers are 10-6 SU and 9-7 ATS in their home games. I don’t expect many points to be scored in this game and for both teams to rely on their running game.
