Another quarterback who is making his NFL Debut is Jayden Daniels for the Washington Commanders. Daniels takes the Commanders down south to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Commanders start a new era with Dan Quinn coming over to be the head coach. Additionally, the Commanders added Kliff Kingsbury as the offensive coordinator for the team. Meanwhile, the defending NFC South champions look to build off a resurrected Baker Mayfield to repeat as division champs again. Below are my Washington Commanders at Tampa Bay Buccaneers preview and predictions!
Commanders at Buccaneers Preview and Predictions
The Washington Commanders come into this season with a new look offense. As I mentioned above, Jayden Daniels is the new starting quarterback. Furthermore, the Commanders added Austin Ekeler to the backfield with Brian Robinson. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers come back with their horses intact.
Baker Mayfield leads the Buccaneers with Chris Godwin and Mike Evans leading the way in the wide receiving group. There wasn’t significant change for the Buccaneers roster-wise and at the coaching positions.
Best Bets
Jayden Daniels has a tall order to go to Tampa Bay and get his first win. History is not on his side as rookie quarterbacks have not fared well on the road historically. I also do have concerns about the Commanders secondary who last season allowed the most passing yards per game. I am not sure that the Commanders have an edge at any position in this game. Yes, maybe down the road at the quarterback position. But I need to see if from Daniels before I can back him.
I expect the team that has been together and chemistry to come out and play well at home. Expect the defense of the Buccaneers to come out and set the tone and I am not confident that Kliff Kingsbury will be able to make the adjustments with a rookie quarterback.
Best Bet: Buccaneers -3.5
