The NFL debut for the #1 overall pick kicks off in Chicago against the revamped Tennessee Titans. The Bears were in the headlines all off-season making moves to position themselves for postseason play. Meanwhile, there is a new regime in Tennessee led by new head coach Brian Callahan. Will Levis takes over as the full-time starting quarterback with plenty of weapons. Below are my Tennessee Titans at Chicago Bears predictions and preview!
TITANS AT BEARS Preview AND Predictions
The Chicago Bears enter the Caleb Williams era as he takes over as the future quarterback of the franchise. Additionally, the Bears added veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen alongside D.J Moore. Furthermore, the Bears also drafted Rome Odunze to bolster the receiving group.
Meanwhile, the Titans entered life after Derrick Henry as they added Tony Pollard next to Tyjae Spears in the backfield. More importantly, Calvin Ridley joins DeAndre Hopkins in the wide receivers room.
Best Bets
Historical trends and stats are not in favor of Caleb Williams in his first NFL game. In fact, since 2005, quarterbacks who were drafted #1 overall and started the season they were drafted are 0-14-1! Will there be an adjustment period for Caleb Williams and the offense? Probably. The underrated part of this Titans team is their secondary. They will have their hands full in Week 1 defending D.J. Moore and Rome Odunze.
However, this is too many points for this Bears team to be laying. Can they win the game? Possibly. But anything outside of a field goal, I will take the Titans. Lastly, teams on the road and in an underdog role are 32-22-2 ATS (60%) since the 2018 season. That percentage has increased to 66.7% since 2021!
