Scottie Scheffler: Lower Than 67.5 Strokes
Scheffler posted a very benign round of 69 in round three. In very Scottie Scheffler fashion, he hit the ball very well and putt the ball poorly. Today, Scheffler gained over two strokes of ball striking and lost nearly all that on the putting surfaces. In his first two rounds, Scottie putt the ball extremely well.
Although he is not the greatest putter in the world, I expect him to bounce back. This golf course suits him to a tee (as do all). In all seriousness, this course will reward the best ball strikers, which is exactly what he is. Look for Scheffler to post a low round on August 18th and help you cash an Underdog Fantasy Pick’em slip.
Collin Morikawa has Lower than 68 strikes
Collin did not live up to the hype in this event. He was extremely popular but sits at a measly three under through three rounds. Looking deeper at the stats, Collin is 60th in strokes gained approach. He is arguably the best iron player in this field, which tells us he will regress in the right direction. Morikawa is due for a solid round and can pop in your Underdog Pick’ Em slip in the final round of The FedEx St. Jude.
