Welcome back to Five Minute Fantasy Football. This episode is a 2024 Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Football Preview. The Jags regressed hard in 2023 after being a huge success story in 2022. They just paid their franchise quarterback. Will paying Trevor Lawrence pay off? The team had to make a decision on their quarterback and they are all-in. They let Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones leave via free agency, leaving 200 vacated targets.
2024 Jacksonville Jaguars Fantasy Football Preview: Will Paying Trevor Lawrence Pay Off?
They signed Gabe Davis in free agency and then used their first round pick on Brian Thomas Jr. The projections from Mike Clay and the season long Pick ‘Em lines on Underdog show high expectations for the rookie. Thomas is projected by Clay to be the #2 target. Underdog has him projected for higher or lower than 800.5 receiving yards and 5.5 receiving touchdowns. This offense was missing a downfield threat, so they went and got two of them.
The team also addressed the offensive line that really struggled last year. Last season they traded for Ezra Cleveland, they were able to re-sign him. Jacksonville also added veterans Brandon Scherff and Mitch Morse to solidify the interior. If you want a more vertical passing game, you need to be able to pass block. This team hopes to see a much improved offensive line in 2024.
Travis Etienne won this offseason for fantasy football purposes. Last year people were really nervous about Tank Bigsby. Now that Bigsby is the biggest threat, Etienne is getting drafted more aggressively as RB8. Evan Engram could be a value, being drafted as TE9. Mike Clay Projects him to finish as TE4 in PPR formats and would be a huge value. A guy that we have seen be a PPR-Monster two years in a row. Here are my full thoughts on the 2024 Jacksonville Jaguars.
