Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – July 26

Joey Bart – Lower than 0.5 Total Bases

Joey Bart has not been much of a hitter this season. Despite gaving a pretty good May, his batting average is still just .231. Some of that can be attributed to the fact that he has just eight hits this month. He’s hitting .211 in July and it won’t get easier facing Zac Gallen. He’s a career 2-for-9 against the Diamondbacks’ righty with four strikeouts. I think it’s safe to expect him to stay off the bases on Friday.

Charlie Morton – Lower than 5.5 Hits Allowed

The Braves might be on an ugly skid, but that’s mostly the fault of their hitting. The pitching is held up well and, historically, Morton has held up well against these Mets. If you take the veterans at the top of this lineup (Martinez, Lindor, Nimmo, Alonso and McNeil), they have faced Morton a total of 173 times. They have just 40 combined hits in that time which comes out to a collective .231 batting average. Morton is also 3-0 with a 2.76 ERA and 31 strikeouts in his last five games against New York.

Drew thorpe – Higher than 5.0 Strikeouts

Thorpe hasn’t cracked this number yet this year, but he is now facing the team that strikes out more than any team in the league – the Mariners. He’s also pitched really well lately with five straight quality starts. That should get him the length he needs to rack up an extra strikeout or two in this one.
