2024 Open Championship Props
Royal Troon plays host to the 2024 Open Championship for the first time since 2016. This golf course is one of the most complete and intricate tests I have ever seen with my own eyes. The front nine is an extremely positional golf course where you may need to club down off the tee to hit some spots. The back nine is much longer, and being both long and straight off the tee is an absolute must.
No Hole In One +125
Back to the well with one of my favorite props. These par fours are extremely interesting, to say the least. Three of the four play well over 180 yards and stretch up to 240 with some insane winds. The best chance to make an ace will come on hole 8, known as “The Postage Stamp”.
This pesky par 3 will play around 125 yards in each round. Although it is nothing more than a gap wedge, the green is fairly small and will play much smaller than its square yardage, with rounded runoffs on each edge.
If you happen to miss the green, good luck with the ball up and down for par. This green is elevated and surrounded by extremely penal bunkers. With all this under consideration, players will play forwards in the middle of the green and not even try to take on the pin.
This collection of par 3s is extremely difficult and should not warrant an ace over four days. The weather will be too tough, and the players will not be aiming at flags.
Groups To Miss Green on Hole 17
Hole 17 at Troon is a 242-yard par three. Tough… right? How about adding in a 20 to 30 mph wind directly into your face? This par three will be playing upwards of 275 yards adjusted and will be an absolute nightmare for players to hit into.
Some books are posting lines around +3000 for specific groups to miss these greens. If you bet a few of them, you will surely get a nice return. Act quickly because these lines will get slashed come round two.
Tiger Woods To Make The Cut +230
Tiger knows how to make his way around Troon. Playing out of the fairway will be an absolute must, and that is simply what he will do. There is no need to bomb it around this place if you do not need to, but he has more than enough juice to get it out there on the difficult back nine holes. Tiger will play his game; the course is not a difficult walk, and he will play the Weekend at the 2024 Open Championship.
