Steven Kwan has been the most impressive story of the season in 2024! The third-year player was mostly known for his elite bat-on-ball skills and slick defense. This year, he has completely reinvented his game. Kwan is slashing an unprecedented .362/.420/.526 with 7 home runs and 24 RBIs. He is a huge reason for the Guardians’ shocking dominance.
Kwan simply gets on base for the likes of Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor, and David Fry to drive him in. I love the Guardians in this spot today against White Sox starter Erick Fedde. The Guardians have great advanced stats against Fedde, and Kwan is 2-3 off him as well.
Juan Soto Higher Than 0.5 Batter Walks
Juan Soto is running away with the MLB walks crown with 73. He is 11 walks clear of his teammate Aaron Judge, who is second in the league. Abbott walked 6 batters in his last start against the Cardinals. To go along with that, Soto has smoked the ball of Abbott in his 3 at-bats against him: 0.609 xBA, 0.926 xSLUG, 0.654 xwOBA, and a 95.5 average EV.
I think Abbott will choose to put Soto on base rather than pitch to him.
