The Quick Pick: Daily Copa America Underdog Fantasy Plays - June 30

Well, degens. It’s Sunday fun day at the Copa America. But, it may not be so fun for either Mexico or Ecuador. Group B still hangs in the balance and it will be Mexico or Ecuador who join Venezuela in the Knockout Round. But in this matchup tonight, I expect some slightly better discipline and sticking to the tactical game plan. Here are today’s two best Copa America Underdog Fantasy Picks for June 30.

The Quick Pick: Daily Copa America Underdog Fantasy Plays – June 30

Santiago Gimenez Higher Than 0.5 Shots on Target

Mexico comes into their Matchday 3, sitting on three points. While they’ve only found the back of the net once, they’ve only conceded once as well. But they’ll need to find the net tonight against Ecuador, or it’s lights out for them. Being that this is the case, our value hunting glasses are locked in on Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez.

The striker had a wonderful season playing for Feyenoord in the Netherlands. He logged 26 goals and 8 assists across 41 matches. In terms of other forwards, he ranks highly in shot attempts and goals scored. But, for some reason, when he puts on the Mexican kit, it becomes a struggle. Tonight, there is no room for struggling, and I expect Gimenez to find a groove.

He may not score a goal, but he will absolutely need to put shots on target to create for his team. Our first Underdog entry tonight is Santiago Gimenez Higher Than 0.5 Shots on Target against Ecuador.

Moises Caicedo Higher Than 0.5 Shots Attempted

The Ecuadorians come into the match against Mexico in a similar position, sitting on three points. But they’ve also got a +1 Goal Differential, and that makes a draw good enough to advance.

Ecuador has found the net four times because their midfield and attackers are skilled at finding the spaces. Our second Underdog entry is no stranger to a big moment playing in the English Premier League. Let’s go ahead and see what midfielder Moises Caicedo brings to the table.

Caicedo plays his club soccer at Chelsea and had a nice first season with the Blues. He tallied 1 goal and 4 assists across 48 matches. But Caicedo is both creative on offense and tactical on defense.

Mexico is young and inexperienced, so Caicedo’s time at the top level in England should be valuable. Ecuador will press forward, no matter what the scenario as it just seems to be in their DNA.

Caicedo will sit towards the top of the box and should have a couple of opportunities to put a shot on goal. Let’s grab Moises Caicedo Higher Than 0.5 Shots Attempted and cash this thing!
