The Quick Pick: Daily Copa America Underdog Fantasy Plays - June 28

Plenty of opportunities are ripe for the picking, so let’s break them down. Here are today’s two best Copa America Underdog Fantasy Picks for June 28.

If you’re anything like us, then you are still stewing over a few things from that US display last night. The loss aside, the red card that Tim Weah took was one of the dumbest moments in US Soccer history. But perhaps Tim Weah took that red card to play the long game?

Setting off a chain reaction of losses and results that ultimately get Gregg Berhalter fired. If that’s the case, then I’m at peace with the red card.

The Quick Pick: Daily Copa America Underdog Fantasy Plays – June 28

Jefferson Brenes Higher Than 0.5 Shots Attempted (1.25X Odds)

The opening match on Friday at Copa America will see Colombia square off against Costa Rica. The Colombians come into this game with three points in the bag after a win versus Paraguay. But, the underdog Costa Ricans may have more pep in their step on Friday after a shocking draw against Brazil.

Anyone who knows soccer understands the Colombians will be a big favorite in this game. So, The Quick Pick is fading the faves and finding some value in Costa Rican midfielder Jefferson Brenes.

Brenes should draw the start for Costa Rica in the central midfield. He will definitely need to defend for large portions of this match. However, the Colombians may not gamble as much offensively as the Brazilians tried to do against Costa Rica. So, I am looking for the Deportivo Saprissa man to muster up at least 1 attempted shot at the Colombian goal.

It may be in open play or even joining in on the counterattack. With a little extra mustard on it, we’re taking Jefferson Brenes to go Higher Than 0.5 Shots Attempted.

Rodrygo Higher Than 0.5 Goals + Assists

In probably the most shocking result of the Copa America tournament thus far, Brazil drew Costa Rica on Matchday 1. Friday night against Paraguay, the Brazilians will need to take nothing less than three points.

I expect better tactical defending, crisper play in the build-up, and the Brazilian stars to shine. Our value hunting glasses are on and they’ve spotted Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo tonight.

The Real Madrid forward just won the Champions League trophy, so he knows what it’s like to face some adversity. I’d fully expect Rodrygo to bounce back in a big way tonight, with either a goal or an assist. The Paraguay defense is softer than a week old banana, so Rodrygo should have no problem finding chances.

His teammates are also just as capable, so the assist could be our way home with this entry. Let’s go ahead and nab Rodrygo to go Higher Than 0.5 Goals + Assists and cash this banger!
