The Quick Pick: Daily Copa America Underdog Fantasy Plays – June 26

Demarai Gray Higher Than 0.5 Shots on Target (1.1x Odds)

The Reggae Boys, otherwise known as Jamaica, began their Copa America campaign with a 1-0 loss to Mexico. The Jamaicans looked a bit rusty in the match against their fellow CONCACAF nation. They are a team that really isn’t going to “out-possess” the opposition or even out-shoot them.

But they contain a fairly potent attack and a top line capable of finding the back of the net. Our first Copa America Underdog entry is Jamaican winger Demarai Gray, a former Premier Leaguer with plenty of skill.

Gray, who now plays his club soccer in Saudi Arabia, logged 68 minutes in their Group B opener. He links up well with striker Michail Antonio and opens up spaces down the left flank. He also created one chance and had a blocked shot against Mexico.

Tonight’s opponent in Ecuador should be a bit less stifling on defense and will provide space for shots at net. So, let’s go ahead and grab Demarai Gray to log Higher Than 0.5 Shots on Target against the Ecuadorians.

Salomon Rondon Higher Than 0.5 Shots on Target

In Wednesday’s Group B nightcap at Copa America, we’ll be treated to the Venezuelans versus the Mexicans. Perhaps a bit surprisingly, Venezuela sits tied atop the group with 3 points.

They also did it in a rather dramatic fashion by erasing a 1-0 deficit to Ecuador and topping them 2-1. This team comes into the tournament ranked 54 in FIFA rankings, but the eye test suggests they’re better than that.

We have our value hunting glasses on and they’ve spotted Venezuelan striker Salomon Rondon as our second Underdog entry.

The opponent tonight in Mexico should provide many familiar faces for Salomon, who plays his club soccer in Liga MX. Rondon also had a blistering season with his club, Pachuca, netting 19 goals across 28 matches.

For tonight’s banger, we’re only in need of a little shot on target. Assuming Rondon gets the nod at striker tonight, this should be a layup with his ability. Let’s go right on ahead and snag Salomon Rondon Higher Than 0.5 Shots on Target and cash this banger!
