2025 Super Bowl LIX Odds and Best Bets – A Look at Every Team

The Kansas City Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowls, but no team has ever done the three-peat despite three teams getting there three straight times and the Buffalo Bills getting there four times in a row.

Nine teams have won back-to-back Super Bowls, yet the three-peat remains untouched. This is in no way a locked-up title for the Chiefs. There’s also been plenty of big upset winners.

The 2017 Philadelphia Eagles were 40/1 and won with a backup quarterback. The 1999 Los Angeles Rams were 150/1, and the 2001 New England Patriots were 60/1.

2025 Super Bowl LIX – The Favorites

The back-to-back champions look to be the first team to three-peat. As mentioned above, that’s never been done in the history of the Super Bowl. Could this Chiefs team be different, absolutely? But think of the great Patriots, Cowboys, Bills, and other teams who couldn’t do it. I don’t think anyone would be shocked if this was the team to break the curse.

The 49ers have been to two of the last four Super Bowls, losing both times to the aforementioned Chiefs. The talent is there, the question is can Shannahan and Purdy lead them to the promised land?

Baltimore boasts the two-time league MVP Lamar Jackson behind center and Super Bowl-winning head coach John Harbaugh. Who coincidentally won Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans with the Ravens in 2013?

The Ravens have added Derrick Henry and some other pieces, hoping to make a run in 2024. The Detroit Lions are the only franchise that has operated during the entire Super Bowl era that has yet to make an appearance in the game.

That being said, head coach Dan Campbell seems to have things on the right track, and the Lions are arguably the best offense in football, at 12/1 odds, this team deserves a hard look at your bet.

The Buffalo Bills have gone through some big off-season changes, most notably moving on from Stefon Diggs, Tre ‘Davious White, Jordan Poyer, Shaq Lawson, and Micah Hyde. The pay quickly filled some of those gaps, but they always seem to be that great regular-season team that can’t get it done in the postseason. That being said, never count out Josh Allen.

The Cincinnati Bengals are just hoping for Joe Burrow to stay healthy. If their star quarterback can stay healthy, this team has a chance. Burrow holds a 3-1 record against Patrick Mahomes. If you can beat a team like that over and over, you can win the Super Bowl.

2025 Super Bowl LIX – Second-Tier Teams

The Houston Texans lead the not-quite-favorites but next-level teams. With CJ Stroud, Stefon Diggs, Tank Dell, and a young team that turned around from the second-worst team in 2022 to a playoff team in 2023, four quarterbacks have won the Super Bowl in their second season. Could Stroud join that list?

The Philadelphia Eagles most recently lost the first of the Chiefs’ back-to-back wins in 2023. Last season, they started on fire, winning 10 of their first 11 games before fizzling out and limping their way into the playoffs with a quick exit. Saquon Barkley has joined the team, and Hurts’ other weapons have signed extensions. This should be a dangerous team in 2024, and they deserve a bet at this number.

The Dallas Cowboys are another team that just seems snakebitten when it comes to the playoffs. Dan Quinn leaves the team to become the head man in Washington but is replaced with a strong hire in Mike Zimmer. The team brought back aging Zeke Elliott, but outside of that, they haven’t made too many moves. Could this be the year Dallas gets over the hump?

The Green Bay Packers may have done it again at quarterback. Can they go from Favre to Rodgers to their next great in Jordan Love? He certainly showed some promise in 2023. One of the youngest teams in the league last year, this team should get stronger and stronger over the next few years. You may want to get used to the cheeseheads in the playoffs again.

For the New York Jets, it’s take two with Aaron Rodgers. The former Packer great was done for the season before it really started. The organization has put a lot around him. Does the all-time great have another magical run in him?

The Miami Dolphins are definitely going to give the Lions a run for the most dangerous offense in the league. Tua was able to stay healthy for the full season, Tyreek Hill hasn’t seemed to miss a step, and Jaylen Waddle just got paid. The biggest question will be whether their defense can keep up.

The Atlanta Falcons seem to be both looking at the now and the future, signing Kirk Cousins and then drafting a quarterback at No. 8 overall. I can’t say it is a team that’s “all in” on this year’s Super Bowl.

The Chicago Bears have drafted the heir apparent and loaded this team up with weapons around him. Unfortunately for the Bears, a rookie quarterback has never led his team to a Super Bowl win.

2025 Super Bowl LIX – Have a Chance Even if it’s Small

The Los Angeles teams check in next, starting with the Rams. Aaron Donald hung up his cleats and called it a career. Sean McVay and Matt Stafford want another one before they call it quits.

On the other side of town (metaphorically), there’s a new Sheriff in town in, Jim Harbaugh. He’s made a lot of big changes, but it never takes him long to start winning somewhere new, and with Justin Herbert leading the team, these Chargers could be a threat.

The Cleveland Browns lost their best quarterback, Joe Flacco, so it’s back to Deshaun Watson. The Browns have invested in weapons around Watson, but can the quarterback return to his glory playing days?

If the Texans’ version of Watson (on the field only we hope), can show up the Browns could become players quickly. Jacksonville has strong leadership at quarterback and head coach. They just need to find that extra level in a tough American Football Conference.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a team I’ll easily drop money on any time you want to give them to me at 50/1. Mike Tomlin is one of the top head coaches in the league, and this dude just finds a way to win year after year—either Super Bowl-winning Russell Wilson or highly skilled Justin Fields. I have full faith that Tomlin could take either of these and be the next surprise Super Bowl winner.

In Indianapolis, the Colts are hoping Anthony Richardson is their version of Jalen Hurts. Puts up a great season and leads his team to the Super Bowl. Like the Steelers, they are in a tough division, but if Richardson finds that next level. Watch out, NFL.

The Seattle Seahawks have moved on from Pete Carroll and will begin the Mike Macdonald era. Geno Smith has been a solid quarterback, but it would take a pretty magical run to get the Seahawks to the big game.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won a playoff game against the Eagles last season and brought back Baker Mayfield on a big deal. Baker has proven to be a blue-collar quarterback capable of putting together a run. It would be a long shot, but not impossible.

The New Orleans Saints would like to become just the second team in history to win the Super Bowl on their home field. Their offense has some pieces, and they are in one of the easier divisions in the NFC, or are they? It could be a tough road for the Saints to make it back home in February.

The Minnesota Vikings are facing that same rookie quarterback thing as Chicago. Unless the ghost of New York’s past, Sam Darnold, is the play-caller. This team was a Kirk Cousins knee injury away from back-to-back playoff berths, it’ll all depend on just how good JJ McCarthy is.

2025 Super Bowl LIX – Praying for a Miracle

The Washington Commanders brought in a new coaching staff, a new quarterback, and many new faces. Yes, we saw the Texans turn things around really fast, but it would take a lot to do that and then win the Super Bowl.

Look for big steps in the right direction for this team and maybe sprinkle them to win the division since they like to win it every four years or so (2020, 2015, 2012).

The Arizona Cardinals are the longshot miracle team I’m willing to bet on. A star quarterback, a solid offense, and a potential superstar rookie wide receiver joining the team. Kyler Murray is the type of player who can lead a team from the depths of the league on a crazy run.

For the New York Giants, there are just more questions than answers. Is Daniel Jones the guy, and is Brian Daniel the guy? Those questions need to be answered before anything else. Now, the Giants are no strangers to upset Super Bowl wins, but this one would be a tall task.

I love Gardner Minshew as much as the next guy, but the Las Vegas Raiders also have more questions than answers regarding their team. The Antonio Pierce story is cool, but it’s hard to see him getting too far with this team in 2024.

The Tennessee Titans are one of the last teams you can really kind of make a case for. Just a few seasons ago, they were the number one seed in the NFL with Ryan Tannehill at the helm.

Now, a lot has changed, most notably the head coach and quarterback. Will Levis, though, showed flashes. It would take the ultimate breakout for him, but head coach Brian Callahan could be the next Sean McVay type who just wows everyone.

His father, Bill, being on his staff could help tremendously as well. The New England Patriots are a tough case. As a fan of theirs, I’m just going to enjoy the six rings they already have and watch the rebuild unfold.

It all rounds out with two final teams. The Denver Broncos drafted their next man up in Bo Nix. Sean Peyton is a great head coach, but this team has been torn down to the studs. It also resides in the tough AFC. It may take more than a mile-high miracle for this team to win it all.

The Carolina Panthers are also in the NFL. Barring Bryce Young doing a 180 better than Tony Hawk, it’s going to be a long season for Panthers fans.

2025 Super Bowl LIX – The Bets:

Detroit Lions +1200
Cincinnati Bengals +1300
Philadelphia Eagles +1700
Pittsburgh Steelers +5000

I’m keeping it pretty simple here, spreading out the picks and grabbing a little in each tier. If you want to invest in the favorites, I’m not saying not to; I’m just chasing some value a little farther down. If the Chiefs or 49ers lose two or three games in close proximity during the season, that could be an opportunity to jump for a better number.
