Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – June 16

Ozzie albies – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

The Braves offense has woken up in a big way lately and Albies has been a big part of it. He’s got six hits and nine total bases over the last four games. Now he’ll face Zach Eflin, who he has a good head-to-head against. In 27 career matchups, he’s hitting .320 with over a third of his hits going for extra bases. I like his chances to grab an extra base hit early here, which would clear this projection with just one swing.

Josh Naylor – Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs

Naylor has cooled off a bit in terms of his power numbers from his hot start, but he’s still been hitting well. While he only has one homer in the last eight games, he’s riding a four-game hitting streak. He, like Albies, has a really nice head-to-head matchup here as well. He’s a career 6-for-10 against Jose Berrios with two of those hits going for extra bases and one of which was a homer.

Steven Kwan – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

Sticking in Toronto, another member of the Guardians that’s hot right now is Steven Kwan. He has one of the three longest current hit streaks in the majors right now at ten games. What’s more impressive with that is how many hits he has during that span. In those ten games, he’s gone for 19 hits. At nearly two hits per game and while slugging a whopping .684, a projection like this doesn’t seem all that daunting.
