Well then, it’s been a bit – but last time I wrote about three guys to hit home runs, two of them did. So that means I’m a genius, and you’ve come to the right place. Let’s get right into it on this Friday edition of the Home Run column.

Three Players Hitting Home Runs Today: Home Run Props – June 14, 2024
Marcel Ozuna (Atlanta Braves)
The Bear himself is having an amazing season, and while he’s not winning MVP (a discussion for another day), he’s still mashing baseballs. In fact, as my friend CJ says:
“The Bear will probably win some more awards at the next Emmy’s. But this Bear won’t be winning any hardware, even if he’s been awesome.” – I digress.
Ozuna is batting .320 with an absurd ISO of .282 and a wRC+ of 177. His power numbers jump against RHP, and his ISO jumps to a mind-boggling .326. What does that mean? It means he hits baseballs really well and usually for extra base hits. Lucky for him, Tampa Bay Rays starter Zack Littell is worse against RHHs.
I’m not going to lie—the Braves stink right now. They are not hitting, and the team overall is near the bottom of every hitting category. Not Ozuna, though—so we’re taking his over 1.5 total bases at -110. That Ozuna—he’s still motoring—he’s had 2+ bases in seven of his last ten games and seven straight at home against RHPs.

Aaron Judge (New York Yankees)
I had planned on writing a full section about how there are other Yankees you could target against the Red Sox Brayan Bello, but we all know it’s going to be Judge. He’s batting .302 with a 209 wRC+ – he’s in god-mode. I’m not going to bore you with the details. He’s locked in and hitting everything, and Bello has an ERA over 5 on the road. Oh, and Judge’s numbers go up when he faces RHPs. Take a look at the screengrab via Outlier.bet:
We’re not even taking the 1.5 total bases at -140 (GROSS!), we’re taking the o2.5 total bases at +120. That’s how good he is right now. Also, the hit rate is the same (over in 7 of his last 10 vs. RHP) – he is sending a ball to Mars anyway.

William Contreras (Milwaukee Brewers)
The Brewers have been cooling off lately on the hitting front, but that’s not stopping us from taking my MVP, William Contreras, aka “the better Contreras Twin” to smash one into a river.
Hunter Greene is going for the Reds, and all this dude does is throw gas – 56% of his pitches are fastballs. Our guy Billy C LOVES to hit those and has a wOBA of .372 with only a 13% K rate against them. He also hits Greene’s other pitches well, with over .300 wOBAs against the rest of his arsenal. Contreras is also quietly on a seven-game hitting streak and hit really well against the Reds earlier this season. It’s a great matchup, and Greene is worse against righties.
We’re taking Willy C to go over his total bases prop at 1.5 and a HR he will send into some sort of drunken Milwaukee bar.
