The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for June 2

Evander Kane Higher Than 0.5 Points (1.2x Odds)

The Edmonton Oilers head back to home ice on Sunday evening with a chance to close out the series. It seems like ancient history now, back when this team was broken and relieved their head coach of his duties.

But this team has consistently found a way, aided largely by their increasingly hot goaltender, Stuart Skinner. Our first NHL Underdog entry will seem a bit against the grain. But, he’s also due and he happens to be as big a degen as we all are.

Kane played a total of 77 games in the regular season and logged 44 points. Here in the post-season, he has played 17 games and tallied 8 points. The 1.2x Odds pricetag on Evander is enticing for a couple of reasons. One, Evander Kane shows up in Game 6 situations, as is evident against the Vancouver Canucks. Another is simply his fierceness as a competitor.

And finally, playing the role of the beneficiary as he flies under the Stars’ radar. So, let’s take a shot here and go Higher Than 0.5 Points for Evander Kane in Game 6.

Wyatt Johnston Higher Than 0.5 Points

These Dallas Stars have had their backs against the wall before. But, Sunday night, they’ll be in enemy territory and in a must-win situation. Now, if they get to Game 7, bet your house on the Stars because coach Peter Deboer is undefeated in Game 7s. But, for the purposes of our two-pack snack, our value hunting glasses have located Wyatt Johnston.

Johnston might be barely old enough to buy a beer in the city he plays in. But this kid has shown he has what it takes to be a star. He tallied 65 points in the regular season and has 16 points in 18 post-season games.

Coming into Game 6 tonight, Johnston is riding a four-game point streak, so this pick should be value city. All we need is one, Mr. Johnston. Let’s go ahead and take Wyatt Johnston Higher Than 0.5 Points and cash this damn two-pack snack!
