Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – June 1
Carlos Correa Higher than 7.5 Fantasy Points
Carlos Correa is typically a slow starter who turns it on when it matters most. But thus far in 2024, his .785 OPS is good for one of the best on the Twins. Minnesota will face Houston, Correa’s former team, on Saturday. As I said, Correa seems to always rise to the occasion, and I think he’ll do just that against his former team.
Yesterday, he picked up an RBI double in the Twins 6-1 victory against Houston. Framber Valdez is going for Houston today, which also plays in our favor, as Correa hits LHP pitching much better than RHP.
Francisco Lindor Higher than 1.5 Total Bases
I said in my last article that the Mets have been a disaster, and much of their slow start is due to their best players not showing up. Francisco Lindor is undoubtedly one of those players, but he has turned it on a bit lately. Lindor has 11 hits in his last seven games, including a 4-4 performance on Thursday against the D-Backs.
The Diamondbacks are going with spot starter Slade Cecconi, who has not pitched well at all this season. I’m hoping he gets pulled early and Lindor gets to face the Diamondbacks’ left-handed heavy bullpen. Say what you want about Lindor, but he has consistently smashed lefties throughout his career.
Aaron Judge Higher than 0.5 1st Inn. H+R+RBI
I’m truly running out of adjectives to describe Aaron Judge. His month of April was one of the worst months of his career, yet his month of May was one of the best months of any player in the last ten seasons. 14 homers, 27 RBIs, slashing .371/.488/.928, just in May, is utterly ridiculous. He’s now leading the league in home runs, after two last night, and leading the league in OPS.
Judge cashed in for us big time in the month of May, so it’s only right to start June with a Judge play. He’ll be facing Logan Webb in the first inning, who he has a home run against on Opening Day of last season.
