I didn’t have faith in the Boston Celtics covering the 8.5-point spread in Game 2 against the Indiana Pacers. I definitely was wrong there, as the home team won 126-110. But, hey, I didn’t make a play on the spread (I’m a coward) – I played the total (over), and it hit. Time for Game 3 on Saturday night. Here are my NBA picks for May 25th. NBA Picks May 25th
Boston Celtics vs. Indiana Pacers
Tipoff – 8:30 pm EST
Spread: Celtics -7
Total: 222.5
The big news heading into Game 3 is, not surprisingly, concerning the health of a star player. The Indiana Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton re-injured his wonky hamstring during Game 2 and left early. He is listed as questionable for Saturday’s Game 3. Even if he does play, he’s bound to be limited (as he has been, more or less, since the all-star break).
This leads me to take the visiting team, the Boston Celtics, and lay the seven points on Saturday night. Thankfully I’m getting that for plus money, which is a pleasant surprise. Boston may have gotten their poor performance out of the way in their Game 1 overtime win. They were the best road team this season, as well, so it should be no big deal playing in Indianapolis.
Both Game 1 and Game 2 went over, so let’s make another play on the over for Saturday. Game 2 easily went over, even with Indiana’s stars playing limited minutes.
Best Bet: Celtics -7 (+103); Pacers/Celtics Over 222.5 (-106)
