Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 20
Aaron Judge Higher than 0.5 Batter Walks
We hit this same selection on Thursday and we need to run it back. Aaron Judge has been on an absolute tear during the month of May and is red hot right now. Judge is leading the league in walks, and he has been taking them lately, walking four times in the Yankees three-game sweep of the White Sox.
Logan Gilbert is the Mariners starter against the Yankees on Monday. Although he is not prone to being wild, I think he will try to stay away from the Bronx Bomber’s best hitter right now, especially in RBI situations.
Tanner Houck Higher than 31.5 Fantasy Points
Tanner Houck has finally been able to put it all together this season, pitching in the best stretch of his career. Houck is 3-5 with a 2.17 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 58.0 innings pitched. He will face the Rays, who he faced last Wednesday, going 5.2 innings pitched, allowing just 1 run and striking out 7. I like Houck’s matchup here against the Rays, who have struggled to score runs as of late. Fantasy Points does make this a little tricky, as we have to rely a bit on the Sox to give Houck run support in order to get a win.
Mookie Betts Higher than 9.0 Fantasy Points
I just can’t quit selecting Mookie in my Pick’em plays. Even when he doesn’t pull through for me, it seems like the very next game, he’s collecting 3 hits and 2 RBIs. I love Mookie here in this spot against the Diamondbacks. The D-Backs, who have been disappointing this year, are going with a bullpen game today. Joe Mantiply will start the game on the hill but he isn’t expected to pitch very long. I love Betts’ matchup against the left-handed Mantiply, as well as most guys in this shaky D-Backs bullpen.
