Underdog Fantasy MLB Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 8
Brent Rooker Higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (Game 2)
On Wednesday, the A’s play a doubleheader against the Rangers. The game we will be focusing on is Game 2. On the mound for the Rangers in Game 2 is Jack Leiter. Leiter struggled immensely in his first career MLB game on April 18th, allowing 7 earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched against the lousy Tigers offense.
I chose Rooker in my last article, and he unfortunately did not clutch up for us. Today, I think it will be a different story. In his last five games, Rooker has 7 hits, 3 home runs, a double, and 8 RBIs. He’s gone higher than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs in six of his last eight games.
Kyle Bradish Lower than 17.5 Pitching Outs
Bradish made his first start of the season on May 2 against the Yankees. In 4.2 innings pitched, he allowed just 1 earned run on 4 hits, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts. He did this all in 84 pitches. Bradish is recovering from a UCL sprain in his pitching elbow. Orioles manager Bradon Hyde discussed limited Bradish this season in terms of pitch count and innings this season. 17.5 outs recorded just seems a bit too much, even against an inconsistent Nationals offense.
Alex Verdugo Higher than 1.5 Hts + Runs + RBIs
Alex Verdugo has been on fire since he was moved to the cleanup spot in the Yankees’ batting order. Dugie has been a revelation for New York. He is one of the reasons for their improved success this season. He is hitting .275 with 5 home runs, 17 RBIs, and an OPS of .812. Vedrugo is also coming off one of his best games of the season, going 3-5 with a home run and 4 RBIs. I think he will keep it going against the Astros on Wednesday!
