The Quick Pick: Daily NHL Underdog Fantasy Pick ’em Picks for May 8

Aleksander Barkov Higher Than 0.5 Points

The Florida Panthers will be on the hunt for a Game 2 win tonight against the Boston Bruins. Their longer lay-off in between series may have actually been a disadvantage in Game 1. Tonight, we’re turning to Aleksander Barkov for a point.
The center has four points in his last two games, for a total of six in six playoff games to date. Barkov also torched the Bruins in the regular season, tallying four points in three games against. We’re keeping this first NHL Underdog entry as nice and easy as a Happy Gilmore putt. Go ahead and press the Higher Than 0.5 Points for Aleksander Barkov in Game 2 on Wednesday night.

Quinn Hughes Higher Than 0.5 Points

In tonight’s Game 1 of their Round 2 series, the Canucks will look to continue their dominance over the Oilers. The previous sentence does not come without serious validity. In fact, the Canucks won all four regular season meetings. For our NHL Underdog banger’s purpose, we’re honing in on defenseman Quinn Hughes. The kid put together a 92-point regular season. He also tallied three assists against the Oilers in three games against them. While it has been a bit slower going for Quinn in the playoffs, tonight should be a wide-open game. And that bodes well for a Quinn Hughes point, in my humble opinion. So let’s grab Quinn Hughes to go Higher Than 0.5 Points in Game 1 against Edmonton.

Evan Bouchard Higher Than 0.5 Points

We’ll keep things in the nightcap on Wednesday night and lock in another defenseman, Evan Bouchard. The Oilers come in having made fairly quick work of the LA Kings, in large part thanks to Evan. He had a whopping nine points in the five-game series, including two multi-point nights. Bouchard also tallied two points in three games against the Canucks in the regular season. Given his fine recent form and ability to fill the box score against Edmonton, this last entry is a hammer. Let’s take Evan Bouchard Higher Than 0.5 Points against Vancouver and cash a second consecutive banger!
