Well, degens. Our Friday night NHL Underdog entry didn’t do too much in terms of setting the tone for our weekend. The picks went just one for three, and the last few days have shown how tough the playoffs can be. Saturday night has just one game to offer up for the picking, and it’s a Game 7 in Boston. William Nylander Higher Than 0.5 Goals (1.25x Odds)
If you ask me, I think that Game 7s are the most exciting thing in all of sports. The Toronto Maple Leafs find themselves in the midst of one on Saturday night. It should probably be a game of very slim margins so we’re focused on William Nylander. In Game 6, Nylander netted two goals and was all over the ice. Without Auston Matthews, the Leafs will need him yet again. There is a bit of a bounty on Nylander tonight at 1.25x Odds, but for good reason. Scoring a goal isn’t easy. Add in the Game 7 level of intensity, and it all makes sense. But Nylander has been up to the challenge lately, so we’re taking the Swede. The Boston Bruins haven’t done it yet, but they’re flirting with blowing a 3-1 series lead. In fact, if they were to squander this, it would be the second time in as many seasons. The pressure is all on Boston in Game 7, but they will get to play in front of their home crowd. Instead of looking toward Pasta or “the Nose” tonight, we’re going back to the well with Morgan Geekie.
Not only did he find the lone goal for the Bruins in Game 6. But he now has points in three of the six games in this series. And if the last game is any indication, Geekie might be shuffled around and put with Boston’s top playmakers. Let’s get Geekie with it on Saturday night.
